Question
Ok, so I'm probably going to be there from may through june.  So, the lows are around 50, or is this generally what the weather is around during the Brazilian winter?  If this is not the case, what would the highs get up to.

Hi,  I am a college student planning on studying abroad/volunteering/interning in Brazil.  We haven't quite worked out where I will be going, but I was trying to get to Rio.  If I were to do this abroad program it would have to be sometime in the months of May, June, or July.  Weather-wise, would that be pretty cold?  Is it too cold to go the beaches?  I definitely at least want to see or meet "the most beautiful women in the world" I've heard so much about when im not volunteering or working.  Anyway, I was just curious about this.  Or if you have any other suggestions of location in Brazil during those months where I can get a good balance of work and fun that would be nice too.

Thanks

Rio would be anice place to be.  Depends where you are. Rio is beautiful but deadly.  Now, Ive never had any problemsn there myself, but never know. There are people in the ocean in Rio all year long, even in the dead of winter, which is June and July.  You can get cold fronts that will make that impossible, though. July can get into the 50s with ocean winds taht will make you freeze and homes are NOT insulated and dont have heaters.  Youd want a place with good windows. Windows that close all the way.

If you are working or volunteering, Im sure you will have opportunities to meet "carioca" girls your own age. If you are in school studying, same deal.

If you are on a foreign exchange in any mid sized city, attending a college there, Im sure you will have a good time. Youwill be experiencing new things, new people, new lifestyles, people who talk and look different than the Americans you see on TV or in your own home town, I would bet.

Id recommend Rio. Campinas in the interior of Sao Paulo would be nice.  Depends on your options.  Rio is a safe bet.  well, safe in quotes.

However, I wont recommend you come here just for the woman. You should have other things in mind.  Christ, you can go to Miami and find Brazilian women.

Good luck.  Feel free to ask a follow up.

Yes, it can be cool in the 50s, with ocean breezes feeling much colder. Ive been in Rio ONLY during those months, including July, the dead of winter, and never put on a sweater and went to the beach.  The beach wasnt packed, of course, and by Rio standards it was empty, but there are always a few cariocas around (most of them poor from the favelas) and always tourists there during the day from around the world.

Highs would be in the 80s.
