Brazil/work visa

Question
Edison,

This may be a dumb question, but...

As a U.S. citizen, is possible to get a "work visa", or visa allowing you to reside in Brasil and work in the private sector, before you have accepted a position or found employment?

Thanks, Lucas

Answer
Lucas,

According to the Brazilian Consulate in Houston web site, you need a work authorization permission issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor prior getting a "work" visa. Check these links for more details:

Good luck!
