QUESTION: i am having a terrible time making a banana cake in my gas oven. i moved and always had an electric oven. much harder to cook. the middle is not cooking. i called whirlpool and they told me to calibrate the oven temperature 10 more degrees should this help??? i was always a great baker!!!!

ANSWER: laurie,you just have to learn the different qualities of gas baking,this will take time and practice,be patient and take notes as you try different temps and times,gas ovens are perfectly suited for baking and are the oven of choice for us pros.good luck. bob connolly

QUESTION: should i adjust the baking soda or powder?? what is the best type of tube pan for a gas oven?? should i spray it with pan. i have used a non stick one for many years in electric . never had this problem. thanks  again

laurie,don't adjust the recepie yet,all baking pans will work relatively well in gas ovens,keep in mind my expertise is in commercial baking where we use huge revolving gas ovens. is your oven a convection type? i have seen these types of ovens cause problems. let me know. bob
