Question
1 cup of bread cubes = how many slices?

Answer
Catherine:

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule for that. It would depend on the size of the slice and maybe even if it were toasted or not. I would just  cube up the bread you want to use, one slice at a time and measure it. If it is just for a topping the amount needn't be exact.

Also, if you think you will use one type of bread often, you may want to make a note for future use what the yield of that loaf is.

Expertise

I can answer any questions about baking. The only thing I'm not too good at is baking pies, nor do I know much about high altitude baking.

Experience

I have been baking for over 30 years. One of my hobbies is creating recipes, most of those for baked goods. I made my own wedding cake. Currently I prefer to bake healthier things. I use a lot of whole wheat and other whole grain flours, and prefer to use less sugar or sugar substitutes in my baking. I do a lot with fruit.
