Bread & Pastries/Cheese Roll

Question
Why did the Velveeta cheese leak from my cheese and raisin roll while it was baking?  The finished product contained no cheese.

Answer
Nancy-

Velveta is not really cheese, it is a processed food containing I don't know what, but probably a lot of water. It just turned to liquid and oozed out. Try using shredded cheddar next time. Also, if it is a loaf you are baking (as opposed to individual rolls like cinnamon rolls), make sure the seam is sealed well so the cheese has nowhere to go.

Expertise

I can answer any questions about baking. The only thing I'm not too good at is baking pies, nor do I know much about high altitude baking.

Experience

I have been baking for over 30 years. One of my hobbies is creating recipes, most of those for baked goods. I made my own wedding cake. Currently I prefer to bake healthier things. I use a lot of whole wheat and other whole grain flours, and prefer to use less sugar or sugar substitutes in my baking. I do a lot with fruit.
