About Elyse Grau
Expertise
I can answer any questions about baking. The only thing I'm not too good at is baking pies, nor do I know much about high altitude baking.

Experience
I have been baking for over 30 years. One of my hobbies is creating recipes, most of those for baked goods. I made my own wedding cake. Currently I prefer to bake healthier things. I use a lot of whole wheat and other whole grain flours, and prefer to use less sugar or sugar substitutes in my baking. I do a lot with fruit.

Education/Credentials

Bread & Pastries - priceing baking

Expert: Elyse Grau - 4/29/2009

Question
Dear Elyse

Have made 22 doz white buns and have no idea what to charge.  They have honey, salt, flour, oil yeast .  Would love some help.  Thank you Helen

Answer
Dear Helen:
Your selling price has to be based on your cost, and I have no idea what that might be. You don't say how or why you are selling these - do you have a business or is it for a fundraiser?

If you are trying to make a profit, you need to take your time and other expenses into consideration also. You should talk to a business adviser, an accountant or take some business classes if that is the case.

Elyse
