How to Breakup/Deal With Break Ups/Troubles Moving On

Question
Hey Julie. I was wondering if I could get some advice on moving on from a breakup. Me and my former girlfriend were going out for about six months, and it was a long-distance relationship, but nonetheless, things were going well. I will not reveal the reason of why we broke up, for they are very personal, but let's just say her mother has forbidden her to speak to me and for me to speak to her. The thing is, though, throughout these six months, I was really happy. We spent much time together (when we could, anyways), she made me a blanket, and she was the first girl I truly loved (Sorry, typical teenager saying). But now that it's over, I want to try and get back into a relationship with someone, but I know that's not the way to go. Can I please get some advice on how I can ease my way back into the single life again?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Answer
Start going out with your friends, but don't make it about looking for someone else. Just be casual and have a  good time. If you find someone you are interested in, then ask her out, maybe start with coffee first or a movie, something lowkey..but thats how I've always eased my way back into the single life, I just start hanging out with friends and I find that when I'm out with them having a good time, we tend to meet new people. It seems when your actively looking is when you don't find someone. So try that, it will happen again for you.

Good luck!!

I am a good listener and have helped friends get through break ups, I also have gone through a few myself and know how hard it is..if you just need to vent or need advice, feel free to ask
