How to Breakup/Deal With Break Ups/Break Ups

Question
So I met this girl on eHarmony who I ironically went to high school with, but never met until we did online. We were doing a long distance relationship about an hour and half drive. We were only together for about 2 months and things were great I was head over heels for this girl. She told me she wanted things to work out, because she really liked me. Something happened where I took my sister's side over her's and it was something important to her. At the time I couldn't see that I didn't stick up for her. After a fight she said all I can offer you is friendship. It's been about 2 months since we stopped seeing each other and we have talked a few times, but not in almost a month. I still think about her everyday and see things that remind me of her. How do I get her out of my head? Is time the only way?

Answer
Dear John,
Yes. Time is the only way you are going to get her out of your system. Having no contact is also smart even though it is painful. When we lose someone we think about the what if's and the what could have been. I don't know exactly the details of the breakup, but it was obviously a deal breaker for her. Since you have had a head start on no contact ~ continue to do so and it will get easier day by day. You will never forget the person, but you will grow from the experience. People come into our lives in one of three ways: for a reason ~ a lesson ~ or a journey.
