How to Breakup/Deal With Break Ups/Why am I not over my ex after so long?

Question
It wasn't even a long relationship but afterwards I came to realize I loved her, it ended because I was too inexperienced with being serious with women, it was my 1st relationship(and only serious one up to this point) and I had too much male pride to be romantic, I was also jealous of one of her guy friends who she ironically later rebounded onto after me.

I have done more than burn the bridges, there is no hope of going back there. It has been 5 and a half years and although at some points I thought I was over her sometimes I find that I am not although it gets better I am starting to think there is something wrong, I feel as though I need to talk to her but I know it is not the right thing to do and it will just lead to more embarrassment, I just want to get over it.

Answer
Hi George,
Yes... it is definitely time to let her go.  Take a piece of paper or several and write down everything you would want to tell her.... let it all go and then place that letter somewhere for safe keeping.  Forgive yourself for whatever mistakes you may have made in the relationship and get busy moving on with your life.  Life is very short... we only get one shot at it and you need to live!!! not just exist..... Here is one of my favorite sayings...Live like it is your last day, Love like you have never been hurt, and dance like noone is watching... Put her in a special place within your heart, but then get really busy with creating the best life for yourself and someone that you want to share it with......  It is normal to regress and think about the past once in a great while, but not to allow that to be a barrier from us moving on with our lives..... create a FABULOUS one...
