How to Breakup/Deal With Break Ups/Reintegrating after you get back together

Question
Both of us are in our late 40's and had been seeing each other for about 2 years.  We had plans of moving in and eventually getting married. About 2 months ago I broke it off. It was not pleasant. We started talking again after a month of no contact and have decided to work on getting "our" life back together.  His friends and family know what happened and are also aware of our desire to get back together.  His child's birthday is coming up soon and I have been invited to the party.  I am not really sure how to act since his parents and friends will be there (as well as his child who knows as well) or should I just not go and wait for another time where there will not be so many people.  Not really sure of what to do.

Answer
Dear Belinda,
Since the 2 of you have decided to work things out I think you should be supportive and go to the party.  If you are concerned about what others think ~ try not to be ~ it is his job as a MAN to let his family and friends know of his desire to be with you and quite frankly it is NONE of their BUSINESS.  So, if you love this man and his child ~ be there for them because how would you feel if they weren't there for you?? A commitment is one where we get through the good and the bad times even if it is uncomfortable.  Good Luck...
