Hi!  Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.  I will try to keep it simple.  My ex-fiance ended up being a junkie.  A few weeks after he asked me to marry him everything came out.  He was living with me and (I'm trying, long story short! :)after a couple of weeks everything came out.  I suspected drugs so I decided to kick him out.  He was sleeping on the couch and I told him that he needed to give me the money he owes me for rent, utilities, and itunes ($150 worth in one month without my permission) he charged to my bank account... after I was paid I would give him the ring back.  I was only asking for $550.  One morning he asked if he could use my car to go get me my money.  Well, he STOLE it!!!  I got it back the next day, he had ran it out of gas at Wal-Mart.  This is just an overview.  Now for the question....  come to find out he supposedly wrote a hot check for the ring.  Do I have to give it back to the jeweler?  The agreement was he pay me the money he owes me and I give him the ring back.  Isn't the hot check his problem.  Also, I really don't believe it was hot.  He's lied to me about EVERYTHING.  OH YEAH, he is also still married to what I thought was his EX-WIFE!!!

RUN away from this guy! jk sorta... This guy is very toxic and bad news! I would do whatever it takes to distance yourself from him. Kick him out an never look back. Dont answer his calls. Call the police if he wont leave you alone. Sell the ring and get your money back. It is yours, I dont believe it was a hot check. Maybe he stole it, but unless you know it was stolen or hot check from the jeweler, then dont worry about it. If you think it will get rid of him for good, you can give him the ring back and tell him to leave you alone for good. This is your choice, but get away from this toxic guy.
