How to Breakup/Deal With Break Ups/text message break up

Question
It is not that I actually mind, but I am 36 and my friend is 26.  I saw all the signs and asked him to be verbal - he wouldn't.  Instead after not hearing from him for 2 or 3 days I asked via text message if I should delete his # from my phone (he would not answer his phone). His response was 'it is what it is'.  Not use to slang I asked him to clarify, he texted that it was not working out, that it was the end, he was sorry and that he did not want to lead me on.  I was fine with that and asked if we were still friends - he said yes.  I have tried to call or text thereafter, but he is still avoiding my calls.  I don't uinderstand that part.  If we are to still be friends why can't we communicate.  It is not late at night (like a booty call), yet midday.  I still consider him to be a friend, do 26 year old males do things completely different. Never dated a 26 yr old male until now.  What would you suggest I do?

Answer
Well its not whether 26 year olds do it or not, I have known 26 year old males who do not act like that, it just depends on the person..not age. Theres 40 year olds how act like that also.

It sounds to me like he doesn't want to have anything to do with you anymore, friendship or not, I'd just give up and not try to call or text him ever again, he sounds really immature to me...

I can answer questions about break ups, and how to move on..I've been through a few of them myself and have learned what to do and what not to do in order to heal, move on, or try to get someone back. No guarantees as each individual is different but I can do my best to help!!

Experience

I am a good listener and have helped friends get through break ups, I also have gone through a few myself and know how hard it is..if you just need to vent or need advice, feel free to ask
