Breast Cancer/Mass or Cyst?

Question
Last year I had a mammo, ultrasound, and mri done. The results were 10mm and 13mm masses with small cysts scattered with dense breasts. Dx fibrocystic breasts.
Well my dr felt a large lump during a breast exam this year, went for another mammo and ultrasound. Now it seems the same 2 masses are now 1cm and 4cm and now they are calling them small cysts? And the ultrasound report says no change! Which I believe is a very big change in growth! My question  is...can a mass turn into a cyst and if they grow that fast, does that mean cancer? Thanks so much! Asked for a referral for a specialist from my dr, since the report and xrays contradict each other...seeing a specialist next week.
Thanks again

Answer
Fibrocystic lesions may wax and wane over time due to hormonal changes and influences. So this is NOT unusual and does not have to have anything to do with cancer. A needle biopsy of your lesion can quickly exclude or confirm the diagnosis! Good luck!
