Question
i had a mammo that had an acr rating of 2- biopsy clip was noted(prior benign mass)no other changes- the ultrasound finding were the following:
very dense parenchymal pattern-
solid mass @ 9 o'clock position right side- which is heterogeneous and both hypoechoic and hypererchoic measuring 6.5mm
additional solid madd with mild acoustical shadowing @ the 1 o'clock position right side measuring 9mm-
multiple begign cysts on the right side-
Left side- bilateral ductular ectasia with multiple tiny sucentimeter cysts in the upper quadrant of the left breast-
very complex breast parenchymal pattern with at least 2 solid lesions on the right side with a heterogeneous apparence with acoustical shadowing-
impression: at least 2 solid lesions on the right side superimposed upon a backgound of fibrocystic change

I am 34 years oldmother of 2 ages 12 and 13. Hysterctomy at age 24 for prolapse.

Everything that i have read indicates that 90% of malignancies are heterogeneous.

What are your thoughts on this ultrasound.

Answer
Well ultrasound is not that certain but malignancy can at least not be excluded. I strongly suggest ultrasound guided needle biopsies of these masses and if possible also MRI breast scans. With so much fibrocystic changes in your breasts ordinar mammograms are difficult to do and interpret, but what did they show?
