Question
With the help of a progressive female physician, in 1999 I was able to have partial surgery and radiation treatment for my Pagets instead of the usual (lop off her breast because as surgeons we don't know and don't care to explore other options) "treatment". Currently I am 50 years old, and have been experiencing tenderness on the ribs below my breast sort of under the armpit. I also have been having horrible hot flashes which I'm not sure are caused by menopause. It has been a over year since my last period.
I was recently talking with someone at work and she told me her friend was experiencing hot flashes she thought were related to menopause and in fact it turned out to be lymphoma(spelling?)
Also, I recently went to the doctors and I had/have a fever of 99.8 unkown in origin. I do not have a cold or anything and my temp is typically low around 98.5 is normal for me.
My question to you is this. I need an Oncologist or someone in my area (Rhode Island) or in a neighboring state who knows about Pagets disease of the breast (as my former physician got cancer herself some years ago and is no longer practicing I found out recently)
I am not able to contact her and need to find someone who knows what they are doing to examine me, ask the right questions, order the right tests and figure out if the cancer has returned or not, and if it has, what form it is  now taking.
I hope I have been sort of clear. I know the grammer was not completely correct but I just need to find a doctor who knows what they are doing in regards to Pagets.

ANY medical oncologist in your area should know enough of both Paget's disease of the nipple (that British gentleman has also a bone disease named after him)and of lymphoma to be able to help you with this kind of check up. I'm a Swede living in Sweden so unfortunately I do not know anyone in Rhode Island I can recommend. Good luck!
