Breast Cancer/BI-RADS 4 based on MRI

Question
I am a 34 year old female with a long line of family breast cancer (mother and both grandmothers). My right breast leaks a sticky clear liquid and based on a recent contrast MRI a 8x8x8 nodule was found. I have had this "lump" for a while. My breast doctor wants to do a biopsy. I guess what I want to know is how concerned should I be and what does a BI-RADS 4 mean?

Answer
I suppose it is a 8mmx8mmx8mm nodule? Correct? BIRAD 4 unfortunately means quite a large probability that it is cancerous (but not a certainty). Based on that AND your family history of breast cancer, but not much on your breast discharge, a biopsy is NECESSARY, URGENT & IMPORTANT! Have it done SOONEST! Even if it is cancerous a cure may in your case - based on the size if your lesion if in mm - be possible with just a lumpectomy and radiation therapy! Good luck!
