Breast Cancer/Mammo & Ultrasound Results

Question
Dear Doctor

It would be greatly appreciated if you can explain to me what my results mean, I'm a little confused if findings are benign or malignant and what does non-specific mean???

In the right breast at the 10 o'clock position there is 11mm x 4mm hypoechoic solid nodule. In the left breast at the 12 o'clock position 7cm from nipple there is 8mm x 7mm cystic appearing leison. In the left breast at the 2 o'clock position there is 11mm x 11mm cystic appearing leison.
CONCLUSION: The ultrasound findings have a fairly nonagressive appearance and suggest bilateral breast ultrasound and left mammogram in six months to confirm stability.

Right mammogram from Dec/2008 shows small cluster of microcalcification in the upper outer quadrant, worsened from an outside ultrasound date July/2008. Calcification are non-specific and suggest mammographic guided core biopsy.

Thanks for your help!!!

Answer
The important findings here both in the mammography results and the ultrasound scan results that you have provided are such as to conclude that the lesion in your upper outer part of your right breast MAY be a cancer - NOT certain. To be sure what it is a mammography guided stereotactic core needle biopsy of that lesion is strongly suggested! I agree that that seems to be necessary! Have it done soonest! The rest of your breasts seems to be OK. Good luck!
