Breast Cancer/concerns...?

Question
Hello,

I am a 23 yr old healthy female, and recently I have had some concerns with my breasts.  They feel lumpy...not just one little small lump but all over.  The can move around, they aren't solid, and they are actually a little tender to the touch.  I have a fairly small chest, and I am young so I know I don't have many pre-determining factors or risks.  I have no history of breast cancer in immediate family, a great aunt on my dads side had breast cancer.  My Aunt on my mom's side had a clogged duct a few times, and I am not sure if thats something that can run in the family??
I am just wondering if I should be getting this checked out...My family doctor, when I mention this to him a while ago, said not to worry and didn't even check it out...??
Thank you for your help!

Answer
What you have is probably a fibrocystic breast condition based on your description. That is not dangerous. Mammography in very young women like you is often not conclusive, so if you want to be sure I suggest that you insist on breast MRI scans. Good luck!
