Question
Is it possible that fibrocyctic breast lumps may not be noticed on a sonogram.  My physician found disturbing lumps on one of my breasts and sent me for a mammogram and sonogram.  Although they are very palpable, nothing was seen on mammogram or sonogram.  Should I have further testing?

Answer
Much is possible. Also this. There is no test that is 100% certain. An MRI breast scan can also be done and since these lumps can be felt also fine/thin needle aspiration biopsies of them could be done - if available where you are - in order to be as sure as possible. Good luck!
