Question
I have had numerous ultrasounds showing very cystic breasts. I started lactating both nipples and finally had a mammogram done afer 5 years from the last one. Shows cluster microcalcification - pleomorphic. I will haveing another soon to see if I can have mammogram assisted needle biopsy or if needs to be biopsied via lumpectomy or wire. Please advise what pleomorphic means and is this cluster early breast cancer. Thank you ...Lori:)

Pleomorphic means that they show many forms. Such a cluster may indicate a cancer but it is not sure. Only a biopsy can tell us what it is. A mammography based stereotactic core needle biopsy should be possible. If your breasts are very cystic mammography should in your case always be complemented with ultrasound & MRI breast scans.
