Question
I am 57 years old. Recent mammogram, followed by repeat mammogram & ultrasound reveals cyst filled sac in left breast.
Recommended follow up u/s in 3-6 months. I understand cysts are rare in post menopausal women. Is this appropriate care or should I be seeking the opinion of a breast care expert?
It is, but I see no reason for any follow up in 3 to 6 months if an ultrasound guided needle biopsy is done! Then we will KNOW what this is and do not need to to anything more - except of course the once in a year breast check ups, unless the biopsy should show anything pathological which is possible but not likely.
