Question
i am going for an FNA by ultrasound this week as i have quite a large lump on my left breast under the the nipple. it is deep within the breast. i have been told by the GP that it is a cyst, but i am only 18 years old. it feels about 5-8cm wide and is quite hard, like gristle, and is hard to move around. is it likely to be a cyst seeing as i am only 18? what else could this be?

Answer
At your age the 2 most probable findings are 1. A cyst and 2. A fibroadenoma. Both most probably completely harmless. At your age the risk of a breast cancer is EXTREMELY small! Nothing in your description contradicts what your GP has said! Good luck!
