Breast Cancer/breast biopsy

Question
Hi, i am 49 yrs old, my mom died of breast cancer in 1994, was diagnosed in 1991, she died at 59 yrs old. I am always checking myself with all my doctors, i am very traumatized with my mom's disease i was 32 when she passed, just went for my mammography on 11/4, they called me from dr's office on 11/10 to have a spot compression of my right breast do to a calcification cluster. I have had an mri on 2007 on that same breast and had spot compressions before but always ok. After spot compression, radiologist sent me a certified letter to go back and get core biopsy done, he says i am in the middle, undetermined calcification area, i am so so concerned about this, i have fibrosis on my breasts and they usually hurt if i have salt or caffeine, well that spot usually hurts if i am getting my menstruation or if caffeine intake or salt. Should i be very worried about my biopsy  next week? I am freaking out and my husband says to wait for results, i am so so scared, i can't sleep or do anything, thank God i am on vacation for 2 more weeks. Please i would really appreciate your help with this question, i think i should get ready for whatever happens, every year i go thru the same but for 2008 and 2009 everything was ok with mammograms. Thank you for your attention to this matter.......Maria

Answer
If it is the same story every year the risk is probably small - but of course I can not guarantee that! You SHOULD have biopsy done though so that we will KNOW! We will have to just wait for the reult. When we have it we will KNOW! So please do keep me posted! You should also always combine your mammographies with MRI breast scans & ultrasound breast scans! Good luck!
