hello. i am hoping you could put my mind at rest, as i am a worried mum of 4 young children. I have had pain behind my right breast, like a dull ache, it comes and goes. sometimes into my shoulder and arm pit. Fearing breast cancer i went to my doctor... she did a breast exam and found no lumps or signs of cancer. And told me i could be muscle pain. Its been 2 weeks now and i can still feel this ache, seems to be above my breast today. I'm worried my doctor may have missed something. In your experience do these symptoms sound like a breast cancer? I am very anxious over this. Thans so much for your help.
The symptoms you describe can hardly be regarded as signs of early breast cancer (and a late cancer would easily have been detected by your doctor). Pain is actually a rare symptom in early breast cancers. But in order that you shall feel safe I suggest that you have a mammography & ultrasound breast scan. I would like you to have an MRI breast scan too but I know that British G.P.-s can not order that. Good luck!
