Question
I had DCIS 12 years ago and subsequent mammograms over the years have been okay until last fall when the doctor told me I had new calcification and needed two biopsies bi-lateral.
They both came back benign. Titanium markers were left and I am wondering if the markers be a problem when future mammograms are done? Why do they leave these implants in breast tissue that is already problematic. Can't they use measurements to ascertain the location of the biopsy site? Will this affect my immunology?
No they will not be a problem! Because there is a NEED to know EXACTLY where these biopsies were made and this is the best and most exact method available! Measurements of any other kind is MUCH less exact! No it will not affect your immunology!
