Breast Cancer/result of biopsy

Question
please explain the result of my breast biopsy..the pathologist remarks that i have atypical cell, probably neoplastic? it is a serious disease? or cancer? please help me to understand.
thank you.

Answer
Neoplastic usually means cancer. So that is unfortunately a possibility here - but not a certainty.  Atypical cells is a label used to describe cells somewhere in between normal cells and frank cancer cells. So as I said it is not certain that these cells are cancer cells. But it is possible. An extended biopsy is at least probably necessary to clarify this. Good luck!
