Breast Cancer/Lumps

Question
I'm 23 almost 24 I have had thyroid test and a CBC all came back fine. I've been getting pain on my right side going from the lower part of my arm pit to my breast. I've been lactating now for almost a month. That's why I got the thyroid and CBC testing done. I can't always seem to find it but it's almost like a round perfect ball in my breast and I sometimes feels like it's connected to a lymph node. It hurts when pressure is put on it also. It feels like there are tiny beads going from my arm pit into my breast and always when touching the lymph nodes I can feel it. Any suggestions? I'm scared. Wondering if I should get a second opinion. Also they took a sample of the fluid that is coming out last thursday 27th. Do u know when that information will be back?

Answer
At your age the risk of breast cancer is small (though not 0). The fact that what you can feel is tender (painful) to the touch also makes it less likely to be a cancer. Let a doctor check your breast - if necessary also with ultrasound and MRI breast scans. A needle biopsy of the "ball" can - if necessary - also tell us what it is. Though I suspect it to be mammary glandular tissue. It will probably take around one or two week(s). Good luck!
