Question
i just had a right digital diag mamm w/CAD and my reults are as follows: findings: 2 spots, clustered pleomorphic calcifications and grouped pleomorphic calcifications w/ associated soft tissue density.  i am meeting with a general surgeon  for consultation, needle localization and surgical biopsy on monday (per recommendation).  I am rated BI-RADS4c suspicious abnormality.  I have mamm's yearly and this is my mamm result for this year.  There is a family history of breast ca also my mother just passed w/stage 4 lung ca.  I'm am 42 years old with three children.  I am very pro-active and want to have gotten on with the surgery yesterday. Please answer any questions with regards to the "grouped" and "clustered".  does this mean it may have already mestastisized being that their is associated soft tissue density?  Im not real scared with a diagnosis just ready to get on with the fight i may have facing me.  Thank you

Answer
No that has nothing to do with if any cancer has spread or not. These are just technicalities with regards to what the picture looks like but they do increase the risk that you have a cancer but it is still not a certainty. For that biopsies are necessary.
