Breast Cancer/Breast Cancer

Question
I wrote to you before regarding my sister's breast cancer.  She has been using holistic treatment only.  The lesion is now huge, and purple.  I haven't seen it, but her daughter has.  She says it looks like the skin is about to explode.  Like an over inflated
purple balloon. Could it actually explode, so to speak? The one breast is much larger than the other one. She has finally agreed to go for a scan to see if it has spread.  If it has not, is there a chance to remove the breast and save her?  I realize it is difficult to answer this without seeing it. Any advice or information you might give me will be appreciated.  I do not understand anyone allowing cancer to kill them without a fight. Help!

Answer
Unfortunately this happens from time to time. Well it will not "explode" but it may burst. Eventually it will develop into a huge open wound crater. I have seen some cases like this. It is probably already too late just to remove her breast surgically. But it may be possible to shrink her tumor by radiation therapy - provided it has not spread - enough so that a surgical removal can be done. However, without any examination I can not guarantee that.
