Breast Cancer/41 WITH BREAST BIOPSY

Question
I just had a breast biopsy.  Two doctors have told me they believe it is a fibroadenoma, but wanted to do the biopsy to be sure.  Even the sonographer felt it didn't look suspicious.  Although I feel more at ease, I won't hear the results until Monday.

When I went in today, they asked me who my surgeon was.  Well, I don't have a surgeon.  I had a mammogram Tuesday along with an ultrasound which my doctor ordered last week.  I immediately called for the biopsy I was told I should get upon hearing of it on Tuesday.  They had an opening today (Thursday) so I went.  I wasn't about to wait around and worry about this.

If this is a fibroadenoma (about 2cm or slightly larger) shouldn't I have it removed even if it isn't malignant?  It doesn't bother me, but I hate to leave it. I wish I knew I should have seen a surgeon but I'm glad the biopsy was done and can at least know what the results are before going through anything else.  I'm only 41 with three young kids and I'm quite worried.  Thanks for any info you have.

Answer
I can only tell you my general attitude. If the biopsy, the mammograms and the ultrasound scans were ALL QUITE ok I do not consider a further surgical biopsy necessary - unless the patient wants the lesion removed. However if there is the slightest uncertainty in ANY of these results I do consider a further surgical biopsy NECESSARY!
