Breast Cancer/Arm pit lymph node, Multiple Breast Cysts

Question
I have had shoulder pain, arm pain, neck stiff (can only turn so far without pain...)chest pressure and under arm pain for 5 weeks. My heart has check out to be normal. I have fibrocystic breasts for over 20 years and had an ultra sound this week. Results: Multiple breast cysts, arm pit lymph node 6mm*5mm. In addition, my left chest feels as if I have multiple small nodes and it is very sore. My thyroid has a 4cm mass and lymph node on one side are always swollen. Could the new problems be from the thyroid and/or is it possible to have breast cancer with fibrocystic breasts? I have been so tired, in pain and sick. Lost over 10 pounds in four weeks. Not sure what to do seeing a breast specialist soon, thyroid biopsy is next month.

Answer
I doubt your neck-shoulder -etc. pain has anything to do with your thyroid or breasts. Your weight loss may however be connected with your thyroid or even with the lymph node. Yes it is possible to have a breast cancer hidden among the fibrocystic lesions. Therefore both breast MRI scans & breast ultrasound scans should be done together with mammography! And any unclear lesion should have a biopsy done! Biopsies of your thyroid & lymph node should be done as well as thyroid hormone blood tests! Good luck!
