Breast Cancer/Breast lump

Question
I have had a palpable breast lump for about 5-7 years now. It has been seen on mamo but described as just normal fibrocystic tissue and u/s they said was ok. I recently went for a chest ct scan for other reason and it came up w/ 3 very tiny nodules in lungs. Everything else was normal on it. If this lump were truly a mass would the chest ct have picked it up? I was getting concerned now the lump is breast cancer that metasticized to lungs. But theere are no lymph nodes seen or anything else except those 3 nodules, 1 in left lung,2 in right lung. Thank you.

Answer
If it can be seen on a mammogram it can of course also be seen on a CT scan so that is not surprising at all. If this lesion has not changed for that many years it is most unlikely that it has anything to do with cancer at all. However to completely reassure you on that point I suggest that you ask for/demand a thin needle aspiration biopsy of your breast lesion so you will know what it is! Small lung nodules seen on CT are very common and not necessarily of any significance. I therefore do NOT believe you have breast cancer that has spread to your lungs!
