Breast Cancer/Complex Sclerosing Lesion

Question
I noticed an area of my right breast pulling in on the lower right hand side. The mammogram showed distortion and three weeks ago the area was removed, following a wire localisation and incision in the upper left hand side. The results came back as a complex sclerosing lesion so benign.
I have a few questions I was unable to get answered, so thank you for your time.
1. Would a CSL normally present with marked pulling in (when I raise my arms)?
2. Is it normal for the "sign" to be so far from the incision?
3. Now the area has been removed will this pulling in relax? If not what is the best way to keep an eye on changes to that breast? (I am 10 years away from being eligible for breast screening programme)

Thank you

Answer
Some of your question is best answered by a surgeon which I'm not! I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist!
Sclerosing adenosis can sometimes mimick a breast cancer but IS benign. So 1 is POSSIBLE but not always present. 2. Surgical question but the incision is not always exactly where the lesion is. 3. It is possible but not certain. I suggest that you have annual check ups with a dr. (breast surgeon for example) about this. Regular breast MRI scans should be included apart from mammograms and ultrasound scans since MRI can pick out sclerosing adenosis. Good luck!
