Breast Cancer/Hyperechoic Lesions

Question
Hi
I have had an ultrasound in the past couple of months and it has indicated that I have multiple cysts in both breasts and that there are also 2 well defined 2.4 cm lesions possibly being lymph nodes at the 3 oclock position on my left breast so I went for a mammogram and when the results came back in it doesnt refer to these two lesions at all but does mention another lump on the other breast. Now I have tried to ask my doctor and all he said was not to worry and did a manual exam on my breast and said he cant feel any lumps. My question to you would be what should I do,I am still really worried about the two lesions mentioned in the ultrasound but werent mentioned on the mammo? Any help would be great.
Thank so much for your time.
Tammy

Answer
That they can not be seen in the mammograms must mean that there is no x-ray density difference between them and their surroundings! That probably indicates that they are likely to be harmless, but like the lesion seen only in the mammogram you would probably feel more at ease if they were examined by biopsy. That can be done with thin needle aspiration biopsies either with the aid of ultrasound guidance or with the mammogram lesion with the help of a stereotactic mammography technique. That something can not be felt is no reason why it should not be investigated further!
