Breast Cancer/Premarin in Stage 4 Breast Cancer

Question
My mother has stage 4 breast cancer and has been on several different treatments in the past including Tomixifin, Arimidex, and Aromasin.  Her doctor has been giving her Zometa infusions for over a year now. She was also getting Falsodex but he just stopped that and gave her a script for Premarin.  Her cea levels have increased so I understand the need to change treatments but I'm very confused as to why he would put her on Premarin.  Can you please help me?

Answer
I'm somewhat confused too! She has according to your information received different anti estrogen drugs and now she is receiving estrogen instead. It is true that there are cases where it works - a paradox - but it is risky as a tumour depending on estrogen can be boosted instead. I think you better address this question to her dr.
