-----Question-----
Hi there,

My boyfriend has recently experienced pain in his right breast and he has an inverted nipple on that side.  I want to get a medical diagnosis but could this be breast cancer?  could it be something less serious?  what are his options?

He says he's been experiencing a lot of pain in the last two weeks (ironically he went for a massage and the massage therapist was working on his back and said he had a cyst and was putting pressure on his back on the same side that subsequently he's gotten breast pain on.........just wondering if you had any general info that may shed some light on the subject.

thanks

Audra
-----Answer-----
Yes men CAN get breast cancer, BUT there are about 100 female breast cancers to each male one, so they are uncommon (due to hormonal differences). How old is your boyfriend? If he is in his 20-ies a breast cancer is very unlikely. To settle this matter let a surgeon check him and you will know how it is! Good luck!

Answer
Even at that age a cancer is not very likely. Also breast cancers rarely present themselves with pain/tenderness. There are many othe possible reasons for his pain. But the quickest way to have your questions answered is to get him to a surgeon! Do that!
