Answer
Can it be Hodgkin's? That is a malignant tumour disease of lymph tissue (like cancer). It is in general treated with radiation therapy and chemo therapy, though surgery too may sometimes be involved. Therapy results in general are rather good though they tend to be somewhat less so at a more advanced age. Contrary to most cancers this is most common in a younger age group. It involves mostly lymph nodes, the liver, the spleen and the bone marrow but other locations are possible. Its cause is unknown. There is no big hereditary factor involved. To confuse things there ARE other malignant lymph tissue tumours too, they are often called by a common term non-Hodgkin lymphomas (so Hodgkin's is a Hodgkin's lymphoma)and are often more difficult to treat though in principal the treatment is the same. You will have to find out yourself which of these it may be.
