Question
my wife is 39 and has had problems with her left breast for 3 years having had 2 mamograms and ultrasounds every year for the 3 years it wasnt until they checked the disscharge from her nipple this year that they decided to operate in the form of nipple detachment and checking some tissue samples the result of this was dcis were by she had a wide locaal excision and has a result has now been told because of no clear margin needs a mastectomy if this discharge had been checked sooner instead of being ignored would it have made any difference to the final outcome

Answer
Probably yes! Why was no cytologic smear tests done already in the beginning, instead of waiting until recently? It is such a simple AND CHEAP test?! It is one of the basic tests you (can) do in this kind of investigation! Sir, I do understand your & your wife's feelings under these circumstances!
