Breast Cancer/I am in extreme pain in right breast

Question
I am having extreme pain in my breast where I am crying. I went to doc with this pain 2 months ago, had a mammo and found a 6 mm spot, I also am having bad pain under the same side armpit to where it is hurting to put deodarant on. My nipple on this same breast has recently inverted badly, noted at the mammo. I also feel like a tugging or feeling of strecthed skin. This pain is thru my nipple, and above , I feel this pain all the wat thru. They sent for films in Fl, but I called and they still do not have. I hurt so much I want to go to emergency room as I feel I can not handle this pain.Shouldn't I be having a biopsy? I am on medicaid and 50 yrs old and feel this is a reason this is taking too long. I am scared. I have tried motrin and tylenol and heating pad for pain, but NO help. Should I go to get another opinion faster?  Thanks  Sandra

Answer
Pain is not usually a symptom of early breast cancer (and a 6 mm "spot" - if indeed a cancer - IS early). However I do understand that in this situatiomn you ARE worried! I therefore do recommend a (stereotactic) needle biopsy of your "spot" as well as an MRI breast scan to find out better what is going on there! I must also point out that there may be other reasons than cancer for your pain (and such reasons are MORE probable) so someone should look for them too! Good luck!
They are quite a few - and outside my area of expertise.
