Question
I just wanted to let you know I am seeing the other surgeon this Friday. I am so relieved that he will see me.
I also picked up a copy of the mammogram and it basically said the breasts were dense and an ultrasound was needed for further evaluation.
I will let you know how things go. Thnaks so much for your help!!!

Thanks so much for your help. I called my dr's office again this morning and asked them if they could please do the bx sooner than a month. The nurse refused and said that me coming in sooner would defeat the purpose of him wanting to see if there is any change. They will not see me sooner or do the bx any sooner. I am so frustrated.
I have called and requested a 2nd opinion with another surgeon with whom I have worked with in the past. I spoke with his nurse and she is going to call me back after speaking with him.
Is there anything else I should do or am I making a big deal over nothing?
Thanks again!

-----Question-----
I had written earlier with questions re:shadowing on breast u/s. I called my dr and spoke to his nurse and told her I really wasn't comfortable waiting a month for a biopsy. She told me that a month was not going to make a difference even if it is a malignancy. Also, it may resolve and not need a bx at all.
I am not comfortable with this but not really sure what to do. Should I push the issue or get another opinion? It may be nothing but I am nervous about it and even though a month is not really a long time,it is if you are anxious about the shadowing.
Thanks so much for your expertise and help.

-----Answer-----
Yes I fully understand that you are upset and that was also the main reason why I did not think you should wait since from a pure tumor point of view that nurse was right, but then you disregard the point of view of the patient. A needle biopsy could be done in very little time and we would have a much better idea of what may be there. If I were you I would get a second opinion! Good luck!

-----Answer-----
No I think you are doing the right thing! Honestly I do not understand this "waiting game" (unless it is for strictly financial reasons). The moment a mass was spotted a needle biopsy should have been done and you would not have to wait at all! I hope this other dr. will help you! Please do keep me posted!

Answer
Thanks! Good luck! With that type of breasts you MUST in the future EVERY time a mammograpy is made of your breasts ALSO have breast MRI scans & breast ultrasound scans of them and if any lesion is seen at least a needle biopsy of it! Ok? Good! Good luck!
