Breast Cancer/lump in breast

Question
I'm a 33 yr old mother of 3. I just had a baby 2mo ago. I was breast-feeding for the first 2-3 weeks, but wasn't able to continue. I wasn't able to express any milk as I dried up and became engorged. Since that time, I noticed an oblong shaped lump under my right areola. The lump is slightly visible and feels slightly bumpy. It's about an inch wide and about 1 1/2-2 inches long. I tried to soak it in warm water and massaged it but it did no good. I don't recall having any redness or fever. I've had it for 5-6 weeks now. I never had this lump before. I have no insurance. Should I be worried? What are my treatment options without insurance?

Answer
Leslee, I'm a Swede living in Sweden. I can not give you advice with regards to treatment options without an insurance!
Nor can I without an examination tell you what this is. It may very well be connected with your failed breast feeding. But I can not be sure! So I MUST ask you to let a surgeon check you so we may know what it is and take any action necessary - if indeed necessary! Good luck! please do keep me posted!
