Breast Cancer/malignant calcifications

Question
I have just had a mammotone for 'suspicious' calcifications. I went in to it feeling very positiove as everything I had read stated that the chances of it being 'cancer' were slim. I have just spoken to the nurse (doctor out of town) to be told 'sorry you have CANCER.' I need to wait 'till Tuesday to see the doctor. What I'm confused about is.. If there's no tumor am I looking at a secondary cancer? Can I still have radiotherapy or is chemo-masectomy my only option. What stage am I likely to be at, bearing in mind that I missed a Mammo last yr?

Answer
Certain kinds of micro calcifications in lesions seen on mammography are associated with breast cancer. Has the dr. seen your pictures (via computer or video link?)? Or is this only the opinion of the nurse since the dr. was not there. In order to answer your question I need to see the full mammography report, otherwise it will only be guess work! If you can provide me with that I can give you a much better answer.
