Breast Cancer/pathology report

Question
I had a stereotactic biopsy for a cluster of microcalcifications in my right
breast. The pathology report states "Negative for malignancy, calcification with
osseous metaplasia in adipose tissue, focal stromal fibrosis. I am trying to find
information on osseous metaplasia but cannot. My question is this..do i need to
keep an eye on this..could it develop into something more? should i go ahead
with an excisional biopsy to be safe? what is your opinion...thank you

Answer
This is entirely benign! NOTHING dangerous! Osseous metaplasia only means that some small sections of fibrous tissue inside your breasts have turned into bone tissue. That is why calcifications are seen there. Nothing to worry about. But of course a cancer can turn up in your breasts in the future. No guarantees against that for anyone.
