Breast Cancer/recurrence?

Question
Hi Dr. Nordquist. I am a 2 year breast cancer survivor. I had chemo, and radiation. My cancer was hormone receptor negative, so I am not on any medication.  I have been having incredibly strong pain in my chest under the part of the breast where the tumor was removed. The pains are not constant, but come and go. I had an x ray, when I told my oncologist about the pain. Now I feel (under my breast) a lump the size of a golf ball, once again it is somewhat under the lumpectomy scar.  Could this just be "scar tissue", since it is near the scar?  I say this because I also have little lumps in the breast near the scar and when they did a mamography/ultrasound, they said those lumps must be from the incision.  But this other lump is under the breast. Should I be concerned?  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Impossible to say what they are without an examination. Call your oncologist or your surgeon and have 1. x-ray mammograms done, 2. MRI mammograms & ultrasound scans done & 3. have thin needle aspiration biopsies done on the lump. With these things done you will know what it is and if necessary further action can be done.
Good luck!
