Question
i am 48 & have already had numerous Mammo's & ultra sounds as i have many cysts (one specialist advised i have the most he has ever seen). i have already had a regular biopsy to remove a mass (left breast) about 2 years ago, all negative so far. my last mammo found another questionable mass that mammo was done on 11/2, then ultra sound on 11/16. follow up with specialist on 12/1 & he ordered a needle biopsy, w/ ultra sound guide (left breast again, different location) i am still waiting for this biopsy to be scheduled. i realize it is holiday season, but is this too long to wait ??? soon will be 2 months from the first mammo.
thank you,
June

Answer
I do not know what is available where you live, but I would not like the waiting time for a (thin) needle (aspiration, cytologic) biopsy to exceed 1 week-10 days. However this type of biopsy may not be available or at least commonly so everywhere in the U.S. I'm a Swede in Sweden and that method was developed here, but even here it is not easily available everywhere.
