Breastfeeding/post breastfeeding periods and pregnancy

Question
I have stopped breastfeeding about 5 months ago.  When I finally got my period, i had 2 regular ones and my last one was about 6 days late.  I had a few musus, blood tinged wipes on a few days off and on after that.  My period was due again a week ago, so I am late.  I have been hormonal for a week.  Last night I woke up to what felt like let down and twice wringing wet with sweat.  My husband uses condoms or pulls out but I know people who have gotten preg while using condoms.  My vagina has been tender during sex the past few times.  Could it still be my hormones from nursing or what and how long will this happen???

Answer
Hello.  5 months is a long time for the hormones to still be there.  I'd suggest that you first take a pregnancy test and if it says negative, you need to go see your doctor to make sure that everything is okay with you. It can just be an infection or you can be pregnant.

Good luck.
