Question
I recently got strep throat and my dr put me on zithromax. So I am now put her on formula and pumping and dumping so I will be able to return to nursing after the medicine, but when I pump my milk is a green color. Is this from the medicine or the infection. Or what could it be my dr has no idea never seen it before.

Answer
unfortunately, this is a little out of my scope of practice... I have never seen it before either so I am unable to give you a  definitive answer.  I would suggest checking with a local Lactation consultant. You can likely just put a call in, as there is no need for a consult. and you very well may find out if you can still nurse on the zithromax and not pump and pump. you can also check safefetus.com  to find out its safety in nursing and any side effects etc...

good luck!
