Breastfeeding/7 mo. old clears throat/clamps down while breastfeeding

Question
hello.
my 7 month old son has recently started making a noise sometimes while breastfeeding that sounds somewhere between clearing his throat and straining to make a bowel movement (which he's not). He then clamps down on my nipple with his gums. This doesn't happen every time, and I can't figure out environmentally or externally what a common thread might be to cause this behavior.
I would be grateful for any thoughts you have on this.

Answer
it sounds to me like he is just playing with his voice... he has learned he can control it some and figured out this odd sound to make so he does :)  He is right at the perfect time to be learning cause and effect... when I do THIS.... then THIS happens.... he will start all kinds of games testing his theory :)
