Question
Hi Ruth,

I am trying to dry up my breast milk and my pumping schedule is 6am 9am 12pm 3pm 6pm 9pm 12am, every 3 hours. I have dropped the 3am pumping, so I am down to 6 times a day and I have done so for 3 days.  I still get the same anount of milk each time.  Do I need to lower the setting on my pump so I will pump less?  Also do I need to rearrange the times I pump to be more evenly spaced out since I go 6 hrs at night.  Thank you.

Answer
I would stop pumping at the midnight feeding as well, then each week take out one more feeding starting at the night time as that is when the milk is usually the least amount. You can also try drinking sage tea as that can help decrease the milk. You can also lower the settings and know that it will take a while to properly wean from the milk.
