Question
dear ruth, thankyou for taking the time to answer my question,
my daughter is 2/12 years old and breastfeeds almost all the time, during the night she sleeps on the breast as co sleeps with me the boob is in her mouth all night, my question is latley when i wake up i have no energy what so ever i hardley have any energy to move i am just so tired, do you think that because she sucks so much and for so long do you think she is draining me of energy. by the way i am not a good eater but i do drink alot of water as i am always thirsty. thankyou. adele

Answer
i have never heard of breastfeeding alone to zap your energy like this. My guess would actually be that you either are not getting enough GOOD rest , so that you wake up well rested. Or, like you said, you aren't getting good nutrition. I suggest going on some multivitamin for women, also taking a green tea supplement for more energy. Start eating better ( more often in small meals , high in protein ) and getting vitamins and minerals replenished again. That would be my advice.te Remember that anything you don't replenish in yourself, the baby will still get. If you need more calcium, the baby will still get calcium but it will take it from your teeth and bones. In order for YOU to be well, you need these vitamins for that reason alone :)
